Parent & Student Complaints/Grievances
Parents & Students Complaints/Grievances
Sinton ISD is committed to providing a process for addressing questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner. Individuals are encouraged to begin by communicating directly with the campus or district administrator responsible for the area of concern. Whenever possible, concerns should be addressed and resolved at the lowest appropriate administrative level.
When a concern cannot be resolved through informal communication, an individual may initiate the district’s formal complaint process. Formal complaints must be submitted and addressed according to the procedures, timelines, and appeal provisions established in the applicable Sinton ISD Board Policy. The appropriate policy will depend on the nature of the complaint and may include FNG (LEGAL and LOCAL), DGBA (LEGAL and LOCAL), or GF (LEGAL and LOCAL).
Student and Parent Grievance
Sinton ISD encourages students and parents to work with campus and district staff to resolve concerns through communication and informal problem-solving whenever possible. When a concern cannot be resolved informally, students and parents have the right to use the district’s formal grievance process established in Sinton ISD Board Policy FNG (Local).
The formal grievance procedure provides a structured way for students and parents to present concerns, receive a response, and request further review when appropriate. Individuals may continue to work toward an informal resolution even after beginning the formal process.
Policy FNG (Local)
FNG (Local) establishes the procedures students and parents should follow when submitting a formal complaint or grievance. The policy identifies the appropriate steps, documentation, timelines, and opportunities for review or appeal. Students and parents should review the policy carefully to ensure that all applicable requirements are met.
