Message from the Superintendent

3/31/2020 Message from Chad Jones, Proud Superintendent of Sinton ISD:

It is a great day to be a Sinton Pirate! Today, Governor Abbott extended the mandatory school closure until May 4, 2020. Over the next couple of weeks, the Commissioner is starting a "Public Health Campaign" and the motto for the campaign is "Apart, We Stand Together" and the hope is we sacrifice for one more month and then get back to life as normal. I know that we are holding out hope for a return to normalcy on May 4th. You will be receiving reminders periodically about COVID-19 health measures to take so that we all move past this. I would like to encourage each of you to strictly follow those guidelines.

I also wanted to let each of you know that tonight at a special board meeting, our Board voted unanimously to postpone our Sinton lSD Bond Election.  The election was originally scheduled for May 2nd and has been postponed until November 3, 2020 in an abundance of caution.

I know this is a difficult time for everyone, especially the seniors of the Class of 2020 and their families.  I want each of you to know that we are working daily on how to finish out the year and celebrate your accomplishments.  We would like nothing more than to have a traditional graduation. Unfortunately, we do not have answers yet, but I wanted to reassure each of you that we are working on this daily and having conversations with TEA and other districts about how to get it done.

I want to thank parents for their hard work with their children on the remote learning and I want to encourage everyone to hang in there. We will get through this. I miss you all, but this too shall pass.
