Sinton ISD Food Service Celebrates National Nutrition Month and National School Breakfast Week. 

Theme: Surf's Up with School Breakfast
Menu items: Banana Dolphins, Mermaid Tails Under the Sea, Sea Star Pineapple Cups

SHS HEALTH FAIR (March 4, 2024)
The Sinton ISD Food Service department participated in the annual health fair. 

The food service program partnered with a popular K12 industry chef, Chef Mamma Chang from Chef's Corner to conduct a live cooking demonstration, provide delicious samples and provide nutrition education on healthy meals. Samples included; Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Rice, Stir Fry Chicken with Stir Fry Veggies, Steamed Veggie Rice, Watermelon Radish Salad, Egg Rolls, Fortune Cookies, Texas Luau Slush, Farm to School Crackers. Local foods used included; Watermelon radishes (McAllen, Texas) and True Harvest Crisp Lettuce (Belton, Texas).  Our "Lettuce Grow" was on display, showcasing hydroponically grown lettuce. This event was made possible through our Health Meals Initiative (HMI) grant and Local Foods in Schools (LFS) Grant.
