Remote Learning for SHS through 1/19/21

January 8, 2021

Dear Sinton ISD Staff and Parents:

Four staff members at Sinton High School who have tested positive for COVID-19, plus, we also have four other high school staff members who are considered close contacts.  Due to a lack of substitute teachers available at this time and the number of high school staff who will be in quarantine for the next 7-10 days, Sinton High School will move to REMOTE instruction only until Tuesday, January 19.  All other campuses will continue with on-campus, face to face instruction.

There is no evidence of person to person spread on the campus and our COVID-19 numbers remain relatively low percentage-wise.  However, this decision is solely based on a lack of available staff and subs for on-campus, face to face instruction to continue at Sinton High School.   Extra-curricular activities will continue as normal and coaches and/or directors will be in touch about schedules.

Curbside breakfast and lunch, which is packaged together, will be available to pick up at Sinton Elementary between the hours of 10:00am and 12:30pm.  A parent or the high school student may pick up the meal by providing the student name and ID number.

We will continue to offer COVID-19 testing by appointment only from 3:15-5:00pm Monday through Friday, so any student or staff member with symptoms may get on our website and sign up for a testing appointment.

Once again, SINTON HIGH SCHOOL ONLY will move to remote instruction starting Monday, January 11 and high school students will return on Tuesday, January 19.

Thank you,

Dr. Chad Jones
