SINTON ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES NAMES FINALIST FOR SUPERINTENDENT
The Sinton Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees, at its May 21st meeting, named Dr. Michael ‘Chad’ Jones, currently superintendent at Iola ISD, as finalist for superi ntendent. By law, the Board must now wait 21 days before voting to hire Dr. Jones to be the new superintendent for Sinton ISD. Dr. Jones is slated to assume the head administrator position as a result of the current Superintendent Pari Whitten’s retirement. The Board is scheduled to vote to offer a contract to Dr. Jones on June 11, 2018 as the final step in the search process.
Dr. Jones earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1991, his Masters degree from East Central University in 2001 and his Doctorate from Sam Houston State University in 2016. He and his wife Robyn have three girls, AJ, 19; Becca, 16; and Molly, 13. Dr. Jones began his career as an educator in Norman, Oklahoma and spent 13 years as a science teacher and a coach before coming to College Station ISD to begin his career as an administrator. He went on to serve as a high school assistant principal and an elementary principal in College Station ISD and a high school principal in Rockdale ISD before becoming the superintendent at West Hardin County CISD. The past five years, Dr. Jones has spent as superintendent in Iola ISD. The 2018-2019 school year will mark his 28th year as an educator.
