HS-Academic Decathlon Team

Picture Collage of High School Academic Decathlon Tea  The Sinton High School Academic Decathlon Team competed in the Regional Meet on Friday and Saturday, Feb.8-9, 2019 at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, and has qualified to compete at the USAD State Meet in Frisco on March 8-10, 2019.

Regional medalists were:
Melina Fletcher: Honors Division 3rd Place - Essay
Joseph Mejias: Scholastic Division 2nd Place - Interview, and Team’s Top Scholastic Score
Reese Flinn: Honors Division 2nd Place - Music, Team’s Top Honors Score, Honors Division 3rd Place - Science
Isiah Trevino: Team’s Top Varsity Score.
Team members include: Reese Flinn, Melina Fletcher, Sachee Patel, Joseph Mejias, Josh Torres, Isabella Adams, Isiah Trevino, and Eliseo Hernandez. Alternates are Amber Molina and Chris Garcia. Coaches are Bronson Hamilton, Paul Brown, and Marty Garza.
Representing the Sinton Independent School District at the podium for the distribution of awards was Trustee Ethan Garza, former Sinton High School academic decathlete.

7:40 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. 

Smith Middle School & Sinton High School will remain at: 

7:55 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 


FPS Competition in Wisconsin

Sinton Students Place At Internationals
5 students from Sinton ISD represented Texas at the Future Problem Solvers International Conference and Competition held June 6-10 in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Maggie Gibson and Ethan Garza  assisted with the Conference. Ethan Garza is a member of the Texas State FPS board.
This year more than 1600 students came together from 10 countries to celebrate the problem solving process. New friendships started, memories made and ideas shared.
